Tips before receiving a technical inspection service

1

Pre-PTI vehicle inspection

Comprehensive pre-inspection checkup before visiting the testing center - diagnosing brakes, suspension, headlights, exhaust emissions, and windshield integrity.

2

Exhaust emissions (CO) adjustment and catalytic converter service

Measuring and regulating harmful exhaust gas (CO) levels to comply with legal standards. Inspecting/restoring catalytic converters, and cleaning fuel systems and injectors.

3

Brake system inspection and adjustment

Servicing brake pads, rotors, handbrakes (parking brakes), and ABS systems to ensure successful performance on brake roller testers.

4

Headlight alignment and glass inspection

Adjusting headlight beam height and angle using specialized optical equipment; inspecting windshields for cracks, tinting levels, and compliance of protective films (plenka).

5

Frequently Asked Questions - Tech Review

During the inspection, technicians evaluate :Brake system: Overall efficiency and braking balance; Exhaust emissions: CO levels for petrol engines or opacity/smoke levels for diesel engines; Exterior lighting: Headlight alignment, brightness, and turn indicators; Suspension and steering: Steering play, shock absorbers, tire wear, and tread depth; Visual condition: Windshield cracks (within the wiper sweep zone), body corrosion, and seatbelt function.

The vehicle must strictly be equipped with: A valid fire extinguisher; An emergency warning triangle; A complete first-aid kit.

If faults are identified, you are granted a 30-day grace period to fix the issues. During this period, a re-inspection at the same center is free of charge (or subject to a minor fee depending on specific re-tested parts). Resolving the issues within the allotted 30 days protects you from traffic fines.
