Tips for planning work at height

1

Safety certificates and gear

High-altitude work carries extreme risks. Any industrial mountaineer or technician must have completed specialized occupational safety training courses. The use of dual safety ropes, specialized work seats, energy-absorbing harnesses, and safety helmets is strictly mandatory.

2

Strict control of weather conditions

Weather is a decisive factor when working at heights. According to legislation and safety standards, any mountaineering or scaffolding work is strictly prohibited during high wind speeds (typically exceeding 10–12 m/s), heavy rain, snow, or freezing conditions.

3

Selecting reliable anchoring points

Before rigging the ropes, the mountaineer must meticulously inspect the structural support systems on the building's roof. Tying ropes to ventilation pipes, weak railings, or thin metal fixtures is completely unacceptable — only solid reinforced concrete or dedicated anchor systems must be used.

4

Isolating the lower safety zone

While work is in progress, it is essential to seal off the ground zone beneath the building where tools or materials might accidentally fall. This requires tying special red or yellow warning tape and placing hazard signs. If necessary, a ground support person should monitor pedestrian traffic.

5

Alternative special machinery (aerial lift platforms)

Not every facade or structure allows for the use of mountaineering ropes. When dealing with complex architecture, low-floor installations, or handling heavy materials (e.g., large facade stone tiles, heavy AC units), the use of an appropriately rated aerial lift platform (commonly known as a cherry picker or boom lift) should be planned instead of ropes.

💡

Entrust heights only to professionals

Frequently Asked Questions - Working at Height

Industrial mountaineering is a high-altitude work method where climbing ropes and specialized gear are used to access the work area. It is significantly faster and more cost-effective because it eliminates the need for transporting, assembling, and dismantling heavy metal scaffolding, and it does not damage lawns or the property surrounding the building.

If an AC outdoor unit needs to be installed on a wall that cannot be reached safely from a window or balcony, an industrial mountaineer is brought in. Dropping down from the roof via ropes, the technician drills anchors into the wall, secures the specialized brackets, lowers the unit into place, and connects the utility lines. Such tasks require a minimum of two people to ensure proper safety backup.

Pricing is customized and depends directly on the type of work involved: Window and facade cleaning: Calculated based on the surface area in square meters (m²). Point-specific tasks: (e.g., pipe replacement, AC installation, banner hanging) Priced according to the complexity of the assignment and the floor height. Logistics: Evaluated based on the difficulty of rigging the anchor points on the roof and accessing the descent lines.
